Integrating the swimming pool into the design of this home in the Hills District was a key component of this project. Work was carried out in close consultation with the builder of the home itself to ensure an integrated approach, and construction of the 9m x 5.5m pool was thus carried out in two stages:
1. The pool shape was cut out of the solid rock prior to the house being constructed;
2. The pool was completed once the house had been built and just prior to the owners taking residence

In line with the free-flowing lines of the home, the pool was designed to be an extension of the indoor living room and, equally, the outdoor kitchen and lounge area. The position and style of the pool ensures the living and recreational spaces flow well, and the shape of the pool echoes the angular design of the home itself. Additionally, the pool and raised spa are fully tiled in black granite, which integrates with design elements featured in the outdoor kitchen, landscaped garden and feature walls.

The pool is also highly automated, with an in-floor cleaning system, fully automatic filtration system, and automated control system, which is integrated with the home's C-Bus home automation system.

Other features include a concealed wet edge around the full perimeter of the pool, LED lighting in the pool, and solar heating. A glass pool fence ensures clear views over the pool and landscaped garden. The aesthetics of the pool are further enhanced by timber decking (which has a dual purpose, in concealing the pool and spa equipment), and a sandstone boundary wall.
